Explain,
describe, and/or demonstrate how Kurzweil 3000 might be used to support the
learning needs of a particular individual or of an entire class.
Kurzweil 3000 is a multi-sensory literacy software for struggling students. This software is an integrated solution for addressing language and literacy difficulties. I like the idea that it is easily accessible for all students, and promotes active learning through added visuals, features, tools that adapt to each learners individual style, powerful decoding for text-speech comprehension, and study skills to help students meet learning outcomes in the curriculum. For students who have difficulty physically accessing curriculum materials, it provides a digital means of engaging. I like the idea that this type of software is available, as it is promoting more inclusion and support to students who would otherwise struggle in a classroom environment without the engagement Kurzweil provides. As an educator, I would promote and implement such a useful software into my classroom in the hopes of tapping into learners’ interests and increasing motivation, along with supporting individual needs.
